Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about starting a project, getting an estimate, drop-offs, and pickup options.

How soon can you start on my repair?

If it is a rush job and I am not already working on an urgent project ahead of you, I can often get started within an hour.

How much will the job cost?

All materials are included in my estimates. Take several clear pictures of the repair with your phone and text them over. After asking several questions about the project, I will give you an accurate ballpark estimate.

What kinds of jobs do you take on?

I focus on small welding and fabrication projects along with light mechanical repairs. I have welded legs back on to cast iron chairs. I have repaired aluminum transmission housings. I have fabricated parts for and repaired hundreds of boat trailers. From broken brackets and equipment to small parts, feel free to reach out to see if it is a good fit.

Can I bring my broken item to your shop?

My workshop is located off 23 Mile Road in New Baltimore. However, because of my large Doberman, please do not drop by unannounced. Once we discuss your repair and confirm I can take the job, I will provide the exact address for drop-off.

Do you offer mobile welding or on-site visits?

Although I have generators and all of the necessary mobile welding equipment, I rarely offer on-site welding. Most work is handled directly at my shop.

What if my item is too heavy or large for my car?

If your item is too big or heavy to fit into your vehicle, I have a Ram 1500 pickup truck. At 280 pounds, and after a lifetime of lifting weights, I can handle heavy objects and offer pickup and transport for $1 per mile.
